Winter Party/Chili Cookoff a Success

2010 Chili cookoff winnersOur annual Winter Party and Chili Cookoff was held on March 20, 2010, at 6 p.m. at the Lodge at Stein Farms.

There were 12 entrants in the chili contest, and each tasted more delicious than the last!

All hopeful chefs/chili cookoff entrants received a Prairie Riders Chili Cookoff decal. Second place winner Kat Carter and third place winner Judy Pietkiewicz each received an oven mitt noting their accomplishment. First place winner Randy Prueitt received a beige chef's apron that declares him the winner and chili champion. Most importantly, Randy secured all-important bragging rights for the year!

The club provided chili fixings, beer, soda, burgers and hotdogs for those who didn't like chili. Thanks to Rachel Leach for organizing the chili cookoff and to Bill Luebbers for making the prizes.

The winter party and chili cookoff was held at The Lodge at Stein Farms (formerly the Wheatland Bar), which has heat, separate men's and women's bathrooms, a full sound stage and sound system, and more. It is located at the intersection of Hwy NN and Hwy K (312th Ave. and 60th St.). The address is 5708 312th Ave., Salem, WI 53168.

Thanks to Jody Hammond for getting such a great location for our winter party!
