Summer Camping Trip 2009

By Lindy - Posted on 28 January 2010

The summer camping trip was held June 26-28, 2009, at Lake Farm Campground in Madison, Wis. Both tent sites (non-electric) and RV sites (electric, water and sewer) were available, so the Prairie Riders could camp in the level of comfort they desired.

The campground is close to Lake Waubesa and the Capitol City State Bike Trail. In addition, there are two restaurants — Christy's Landing and the Green Lantern — on the lake nearby. Goodland Park also is close and has volleyball, tennis and basketball courts, a softball field, play equipment, an unsupervised swimming area, and boat launch.

During the club's camping trip, the Madison fireworks, called the Rhythm & Booms, were planned for Saturday at Warner Park in Madison. This large fireworks display is set to music and broadcast over the radio. Jody Hammond and Tom and Leigh Ann Petrusky brought their pontoon boats so the club members could form a small regatta and  watch the fireworks from the water.

Doesn't matter to me as long as I don't have to go in and save them.
