Oktoberfest and Fundraiser on October 16

By Lindy - Posted on 18 September 2010

Get your beer steins ready, gute Männer und Frauen, because our annual fundraiser will be an Oktoberfest celebration! Planned for October 16 at 7 p.m. at The Lodge at Stein Farms, the fundraiser will have a traditional German beer-drinking festival theme, live band, silent auction,  raffles, Oktoberfest costume contest, food, drink and fun. This great event is open to all adult club members, friends and family.

The Wisconsin Plowboys will provide the the music for the evening. According to their site, the band is primarily a country music band, but they do add in other genres featuring artists such as 3 Doors Down, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, Chris Daughtry, Michael Buble and many more.

The Lodge at Stein Farms (formerly the Wheatland Bar), is the site of our Oktoberfest celebration and fundraiser. Those of you who enjoyed our chili cookoff are already familiar with the site. For those of you who aren't, The Lodge has heat, separate men's and women's bathrooms, a full sound stage and sound system, and more. It is located at the intersection of Hwy NN and Hwy K (312th Ave. and 60th St.). The address is 5700 312th Ave., Salem, WI 53168.

XL Beer SteinMany thanks to Clem Stein for letting us use The Lodge! Check out his cool site, www.wowcoolstuff.com, for the party supplies you may need. The barware section has a selection of pilsner glasses such as the extra large beer glass (shown) that can hold five beers at once. Also check out the lighted pilsners, pitchers, lighted theme ice cubes, and more. Get your orders in early to avoid the last minute rush.

So head on out to the Oktoberfest celebration and fundraiser! Share ideas in the comments below or e-mail Leigh Ann at lpetrusky@wi.rr.com.
