January Club Trip to Northern Pines Resort
The January trip is slated for January 27-30, 2011, and will be at Northern Pines Resort in Butternut, Wis. This venue promises "a resort that is secluded enough to be a quiet getaway yet close enough to shopping and other activities in nearby Park Falls, Minocqua (35 miles east), or Hayward (40 miles west)." Like we'll be shopping...still, it will be a great site for snowmobiling, with numerous trails converging on the property.
Organized by Randy Pruitt and Jody Hammond, this club trip kicks off a series of three planned during the 2010-2011 season. To join in, call the resort directly at (715) 762-3001 and reserve your rooms or cabins, as they are offered on a first come, first served basis. If you cannot reach the resort by phone, you also can send an e-mail to vacation@northernpinesresort.com.
Rates available to us include a 20% discount and all taxes.
- 2 bedroom cabin: $95.92 per night
- 2 bedroom lodge unit: $78.32 per night
- 1 bedroom lodge unit: $69.52 per night
We will need to get a count of who is interested in dinner on Saturday night.
According to the resort, more than 500 miles of groomed trails and lots of snow are in the area. The Park Falls Chamber of Commerce offers a trail condition report throughout the snowmobiling season. Trail number 91 provides direct access to the property. For more information, visit:

Thanks to Jody & Randy for putting together a super fun trip!
A total of 35 (possibly 37?) people went and a fun time was had by all! We all had delicious "apple pie" for dessert Saturday night at the club dinner and I'll make more for the Gateway trip!!! And besides one small incident (see Jamie's Smith Rapids Campground Adventure below!) everything was super! Trails, food, our club's cameraderie..... you name it. Was all good. Thanks again to our planners!
