Halloween Party and Fundraiser 2008

Held October 25, 2008, at the Bristol Gun Club, the Prairie Riders Halloween Party opened its doors earlier — at 6:30 p.m. — in order to pack in all the fun. Entrance to the 2008 party was only $18 per person, which included snacks, a catered dinner, dessert, a fantastic band and dancing, cash prizes for best costumes, raffles throughout the night and a silent auction. A $1 donation was charged for cans of beer, wine and soda.

Raffle prizes and silent auction items included items such as:

• Restaurant gift certificates.
• Spa services.
• Hotel getaways.
• Wine and liquor.
• Tickets to events.
• Fun clothing such as snowmobile gear.
• Gift certificates.

Grand prizes for the raffles include vacation getaways and cash The silent auction also included a number of baskets such as spa/beauty products, a "naughty" collection, an entertainment, games, movies, popcorn and candy basket, a car care kit, a bar basket, a Christmas collection, and a coffee basket.

Proceeds from the 2008 Halloween Party and Fundraiser benefitted the Hospice Alliance and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We also held a food drive, and party guests who brought nonperishable food items received a free grand prize ticket for every item donated. We donated all food drive proceeds to the the Shalom Center, and we delivered 120 non-perishable food items to them.

Nancy and Jeff Willems and Kathy and Jamie Carter both brought the most people to the event, and each couple won free memberships for winning this club member contest. Some of their friends even helped by working before, during and after the event!

Kathy Carter won a free club membership for selling the most grand prize raffle tickets: $1,121!

The winners of the grand prize raffle drawing were:

• 1st Prize: Weekend getaway for 2 w/breakfast both days at the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa, Lake Geneva, Wis.
  Winner: Jerry Schutz
• 2nd Prize: Weekend at Lake of the Torches Resort/Casino, Lac du Flambeau, Wis.
  Winner: Phil Maplethorpe
• 3rd Prize: Weekend getaway to Waubee Lodge, Lakewood, Wis.
  Winner: Mike Stateman
• 4th Prize: $200 cash donated by the Dry Bean Saloon, Madison, Wis.
  Winner: Tim Dietrich
• 5th Prize: $150 cash from Earls Club, Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
  Winner: Dan O'Brien
• 6th Prize: $100 cash from the Hub, Kenosha, Wis.
  Winner: Cheryl Potochnik
