Prairie Riders never forget that they're fortunate to be able to enjoy such a great sport as snowmobiling. Rather than take their good fortune for granted, members of the Prairie Riders Snowmobiling Club "pay it forward" with donations and other charitable efforts.

It takes many hands to help make the annual fundraiser organized by the Prairie Riders a success. Without further ado, we would like to thank the organizations and people who supported the Oktoberfest Party and Fundraiser. We sincerely appreciate your time, effort and valuable donations.

Held October 16, 2010, at The Lodge at Stein Farms, Wheatland, Wis., the fundraiser featured a traditional German beer-drinking festival theme, live band, silent auction,  raffles, Oktoberfest costume contest, food, drink and fun.

Get your beer steins ready, gute Männer und Frauen, because our annual fundraiser will be a Oktoberfest celebration! Planned for October 16 at 7 p.m. at The Lodge at Stein Farms, the fundraiser will have a traditional German beer-drinking festival theme, live band, silent auction, raffles, Oktoberfest costume contest, food, drink and fun. This great event is open to all adult club members, friends and family. 

The Prairie Riders summer picnic — a pig roast — was held Saturday, August 28, at the home of Dave and Helen Goldman. For this family-friendly event, the Goldmans set up a track for the kids to ride go-karts, a 120 or a mini ATV. Space Walk of Salem provided a bounce house for the kids. Adults and kids alike also could enjoy volleyball, bocce, horseshoes and other picnic fun.

The 2010 summer camping trip was held July 30-August 1 at the beautiful Lake Farm Campground in Madison, Wis., the site of the 2009 camping trip.

Our annual Winter Party and Chili Cookoff was held on March 20, 2010, at 6 p.m. at the Lodge at Stein Farms. Congratulations to winner Randy Prueitt as well as Kat Carter, who took home second, and Judy Pietkiewicz, who won third.

If you enjoy bicycle riding and beer, consider joining in an unofficial club event: the Fat Tire Tour of Milwaukee on June 12.

It just so happens that our March meeting falls on St. Patrick's Day. Instead of painting the town our usual red, let's make it green. Bring your family out for a St. Patrick's Day style dinner before our monthly meeting on March 17.
